The Rural Payments Agency have announced further details in relation to the Calf Housing for Health & Welfare Grant.
The aims of the grant are to improve calf health and welfare, enhance environmental sustainability and introduce innovation. This will be done through funding for new, upgrading or replacing buildings for calf housing.
Eligibility Criteria:
Existing farm business with 11 or more cattle
Own the farm/land upon which the new building is to be situated on / existing building is situated on
For the purposes of this grant, a 'calf' is defined as domestic cattle up to 6 months old
The project must be located in England
Application Process:
The process is competitive and those projects which best align with the three main aims listed above will stand the best chance of success.

Funding Available:
The minimum grant you can apply for is £15,000 (40% of £37,500). The maximum grant is £500,000 per applicant business. The minimum grant amount does not include costs associated with rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) panels.
Grants can cover up to a maximum rate of 40% of the eligible costs of a project. If you’re including rooftop solar PV panels as part of your project, funding the purchase and installation of these is up to 25% of the eligible costs.
